Another expansion is in the works for the Fairview Ridges Hospital campus in Burnsville.
City leaders are reviewing plans for a five-story medical office building, a two-story hospital expansion and a four-level parking ramp, according to city records.
A skyway also is being planned to connect the new office building to the hospital. The new construction will be used as an ambulatory care expansion, the plan states.
The expansion is being planned for nearly 27 acres on the hospital campus, located east of Fairview Drive and south of Nicollet Boulevard, along Interstate 35E.
The Burnsville Planning Commission is scheduled to review the project Monday night. The project's next step would be approval by to the City Council.
City staff are recommending the project with some conditions. The project must include a reforestation plan, with at least $176,000 worth of funding to replant trees in the area and throughout the city. More information about the plan can be found here.
