A St. Paul man appeared in court Thursday for an omnibus hearing in the murder of his wife.
Jeffrey Trevino is charged with two counts of second degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Kira Trevino.
In court Thursday, Jeffrey Trevino's attorney asked for his client's bail to be lowered from $1 million to $100,000. His attorney said Jeffrey Trevino has family here and is not a flight risk.
According to the prosecution, in a jail phone call Jeffrey Trevino had asked his family to bring him a briefcase from under his bed.
His passport was located in the briefcase. Police have since confiscated his passport.
In court, evidence revealed that blood splatter in the Trevino's bedroom matches the victim.
A judge denied the request to lower Jeffrey Trevino's bail.
Although Kira Trevino's body has not been found the complaint says there is probable cause to conclude she's dead.
That conclusion is based on on the amount of blood police found in her home and car, and the fact that it's uncharacteristic for Kira to go missing without contacting anyone.
Police have set up a tip line in this case. The phone number for the tip line is 651-560-3277.
The omnibus hearing will continue March 29.
Jeffrey Trevino is being held at the Ramsey County Jail.
