A fake cookie buyer in Portland, Ore. placed an order for 6,000 boxes of Girl Scouts cookies.
The troop set aside those cookies, but soon learned that the order wasn't real. It was made by a coworker, the girls' parents said.
The boxes were worth nearly $25,000. The troop was stuck with the bill.
Now others in their town are pitching in to buy the cookies. As of Sunday night, the troop sold 3,000 cookie boxes.
