Capcom has just released their “Capcom Arcade Cabinet Pack 2” for the PSN and I was lucky enough to get a review code for it.

“Capcom Arcade Cabinet Pack 2” includes the following games that were released in 1985, “Gun Smoke,” Ghosts ‘n Goblins,” and “Section Z.”  You can buy them as a package or individually which is nice.

The games look great and are a lot of fun to play.

As soon as you download them they appear in your arcade cabinet and the titles are highlighted so you know you can play them.

Once again you can choose to play in arcade mode, score attack mode, training mode and casual mode.

You can also have your game play recorded so you can show your friends and people from around the world.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins

I was very excited to play “Ghosts ‘n Goblins” again. I pumped a ton of quarters into it back in the day and I had if for the NES. I could never beat it, because it is so hard. “Ghosts ‘n Goblins” is considered one of the most challenging games to beat. I can say proudly that I did manage to beat it and it felt great.

You play as Arthur and his girlfriend has been kidnapped by Satan and you must go through 6 very difficult stages to rescue her. Along the way you fight zombies, monsters and other creatures.

You can also find different weapons such as a dagger, torch, ax or cross.

Arthur can only get hit twice before he loses a life. You are wearing a suit of armor and when you get hit once, you have to run around in your underwear. I thought it was pretty funny and amusing.

Gun Smoke

“Gun Smoke” is also a lot of fun to play. It’s a western themed game and your character is a bounty hunter who is after several bandits. At the beginning of each level you get to see the wanted poster for the criminal you are after in that level. I thought that was pretty neat and creative.

In “Gun Smoke,” you have an overhead view of your character and the level. The screen scrolls down so you have to move quickly and you have to make sure you grab all of your power ups before they disappear off the screen. There are barrels that you can shoot to get the power ups. You can get boots that will make you move faster or a rifle so that you can shoot farther.

The unique thing about “Gun Smoke” is that you can shoot in three directions. You can shoot left, right or straight forward. It is a little tricky to get used to but after a while you will get the hang of it.

Section Z

It has been a long time since I played “Section Z” and after playing it for a few minutes it brought back a lot of great arcade memories.

“Section Z” is a side scrolling game and you control an astronaut who is trying to destroy a space station that is coming close to Earth. There are twenty six levels that go from A to Z and they are broken up into five sectors.

Along the way you can find power ups that will increase your speed and the strength of your weapons.

This is another game that takes a little while to get used to the controls. Enemies will attack from both sides of the screen and you can flip your character so he faces either right or left. I don’t think players will have a problem with this and should figure it out pretty quickly.

I really think that Capcom’s “Capcom Arcade Cabinet Pack 2” is great and a lot of fun. I really enjoyed playing all three classic games again and thought they looked great. I know that people who have already downloaded the “Capcom Arcade Cabinet” will definitely enjoy this new expansion. I sure did and I cannot wait for the next collection of games.
