The chances you know someone with diabetes almost doubled in the last 20 years.
The Minnesota Department of Health says about 290,000 Minnesota adults have diabetes. Health officials say that’s almost twice as many Minnesotans living with diabetes compared to numbers in 1994.
Thousands more might have the disease and not know it.
Health officials want Minnesotans to ask their doctors if they’re at risk for diabetes and what they could do to lower that risk.
