Train Collides with Street Sweeper in Downtown Wayzata

A train collided with a street sweeper in downtown Wayzata Wednesday morning, closing several roads.

It happened around 6 a.m. at East Lake Street and Grove Lane by the train depot.

Officials said the street sweeper got stuck on the tracks. The man in the street sweeper was able to get out safely before the train hit, according to fire officials.

The police chief said no one was injured in the incident.

Grove Lane, Shoreline Drive and Ferndale Road were closed for three hours as crews cleaned up the scene.
