Coon Rapids city officials are encouraging residents who are interested in remodeling their homes on a budget to consider Home for Generations II.
The original Coon Rapids Home for Generations project showed residents ways they could improve a house without breaking the bank. Now, the city has launched an incentive program for families who take on large remodeling projects at their homes.
According to city officials, homeowners can get up to $5,000 in grant money and a rebate on 50 percent of the building permit fees.
Eligible projects must be valued at $35,000 or more and be in a home that’s at least 20 years old, according to the city.
