Families gathering for Easter celebrations this weekend can attend local events in their communities. Here are some highlights:
Community members can register for Easter goodies for their kids; the East Bethel community will be hosting an Easter basket raffle. There will be two prizes, for both a boy and girl between the ages of zero and three, that will be a stuffed animal. Children ages four to seven will have the opportunity to win an Easter basket, one for a boy and girl. The drawings will take place at noon Saturday, March 30, at the Coon Lake Market. To register, stop by the Coon Lake Market before the event.
Enjoy musical and cultural events, tours, contests, fashion shows, and specialty and children's garden vignettes of greens, trees and millions of flowers in full bloom, now to April 27. It will be held on the first and eighth floor of the downtown Macy's. The event is free. For more information, call 612-861-7600.
Families are invited to skate with the Easter Bunny at Wakota Arena in South St. Paul Saturday, March 30. The free event runs from 11:10 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. It features a bunny costume contest, music and candy treats. Participants will have the chance to find the egg with golden candy to win a $25 Visa gift card, compliments of Wakota Federal Credit Union. Al's Coffee will provide hot cocoa and coffee. If you need skates, you can get a free rental with non-perishable food items to donate to the "What Will You Bring to the Table?" food drive to benefit Neighbors, Inc.
Enjoy a classic, Easter brunch at the Saint Paul Hotel on Sunday, March 31, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Saint Paul Hotel will once again offer a traditional brunch in the ballroom for families. To register, call 651-228-3860. Adults will cost $38.95/person, kids ages 4-10 will cost $15.95/person, and kids ages 3 and under are free.
Enjoy masses of tulips, hydrangeas, peonies, daffodils and lilies, now until April 29 that will fill the Conservatory's sunken garden in a spring flower show. Location: Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. For more information, call 651-861-8240.
