Worker Interrupts Copper Theft at St. Cloud Business, 2 Arrested

Two men from the metro are behind bars for allegedly trying to steal thousands of dollars worth of copper wire from a businesses in St. Cloud.

Police say 30-year-old Nathan Johnson, of Robbinsdale, and 38-year-old Todd Fryman, of Coon Rapids, were caught by a worker who spotted the men inside Design Electric just before 10 p.m. Saturday.

Both men took off from the scene before police arrived.

A Waite Park K9 located Johnson on the 4000 block of Clearwater Road and Fryman was later found in the woods with the assistance of the Minnesota State Patrol helicopter.

Police say the men were trying to steal upwards of $4,000 worth of copper wire.

Both are in the Stearns County Jail.
