Skeletal remains found near the Vermillion River in Dakota County have been identified as Diane Kusick, a woman who has been missing since July 2011.
Kusick, of Hastings, was last seen jumping into the Vermillion River by employees from a nearby company, according to the Hastings Police Department.
Previous, extensive repeated efforts to locate and recover the body were unsuccessful, Hastings police reported.
The remains were recovered by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension performed DNA and skeletal remains tests. The BCA positively matched the remains with DNA of an immediate family member.
