Service on the Hiawatha line is back up and running after freezing rain created problems Thursday morning.

Route 55 buses replaced service for the entire Hiawatha line from Mall of America to Target Field stations as crews worked to chip off ice that built up on the overhead cable for the train.

The trains were back up and running by 10 a.m. Thursday.

As of 8:30 a.m. Thursday, 42 percent of Metro Transit buses were on time and the Northstar Commuter Train ran uninterrupted, according to Metro Transit.

The storm is also causing delays and cancelations at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
