A Brooklyn Park police officer caught on tape in a violent confrontation with a handcuffed DWI suspect in a department holding area denies he used excessive force during the incident, which left the man lying in a pool of blood, according to a filing Thursday in court.
This is the first response by Officer Michael Wrobel to the lawsuit against him by Amos Togbeson, Jr. The video was shown for the first time exclusively on 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS at 10 on March 13, 2013.
In the written answer, Wrobel's attorney says any injuries Togbeson sustained "were caused by, due to and the result of the careless, negligent and unlawful conduct," on Wrobel's part and that the officer "denies he utilized excessive force in violation of the Fourth Amendment..."
