The accumulating snow created a mess for drivers on roads in the Twin Cities Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Since noon Thursday, the Minnesota State Patrol handled more than 400 crashes statewide, one was fatal.

There were nearly 780 spinouts reported, with 50 injuries.

The state patrol said a Wisconsin teenager was killed in a crash Thursday in Washington County on westbound 94 after losing control in the snowy conditions. He is identified as 16-year-old Jonathon Pohlen of Houlton, Wis. The state patrol said he went through a median and under a semi-trailer.

Police in Rogers say a tanker truck carrying milk hit a car head-on in the 13700 block of Brockton Lane Thursday afternoon. The tanker rolled into the ditch and hit some power lines. Two people were injured, police say.

The wind and blowing snow were the biggest concerns Friday morning.
