Big changes are coming to Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
From restaurants to restrooms, the airport is getting a $4.2 billion facelift. The plan includes upgrading the ticketing level and baggage claim, building 30 new gates, adding 18 thousand new parking spaces.
Airport officials expect to handle a surge in passengers over the next several years. By 2030 they're expecting more than 50 million passengers passing through the airport that compares to a little more than 33 million today.
The airport generates more than $10-billion in economic activity for the Twin Cities every year.
