Family, friends and students are mourning the loss of a beloved coach.
Fifity-one-year-old Bob Perry collapsed and died unexpectedly around 4 p.m. Thursday in the middle of track practice for Orono Middle School.
The cause of death is still unknown.
Perry was the middle school track coach and an assistant football coach for the high school.
Students painted his initials on the spirit rock outside the high school and wore their Orono team uniforms to honor his memory.
Members of the football team are also talking about dedicating next season to Coach Perry.
"It wasn't just a job, it was a passion. He loved being there for us," said Orono sophomore Chris Sandoval.
