I have not seen too many foreign horror films, but I do enjoy them when I come across them. I find it really interesting to see what writers and directors from different countries come up with to scare people. The foreign films that I have seen are actually pretty scary and creepy and I really do enjoy watching them.

I just finished watching a review copy of Shout Factory’s “Cold Prey II” on DVD and I really enjoyed it a lot for many reasons.

“Cold Prey II” is a Norwegian horror film that was released in 2008. It stars Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Marthe Snorresdotter Rovik, and was directed by Mats Stenberg.

The movie is recorded with the original audio so there are English subtitles. You have to pretty much read through the entire movie, but don’t let that stop you from watching it.

“Cold Prey II” takes place exactly where the “Cold Prey” ended with the main character wandering down the road. In the previous movie a group of friends go to the Norwegian mountains to ski and snowboard and they are attacked by a brutal mountain man. Everyone is killed except for the woman and she manages to kill him and he falls down a crack in a glacier.

In “Cold Prey II” the woman is brought to the hospital and she tells the police what happened. The police decide to investigate and they discover all of the woman’s dead friends and the killer at the bottom of the crack in the glacier. All of the bodies are brought to the hospital and the killer is brought back to life and goes on a killing rampage again.

I really liked the story and thought that it was interesting. The story did remind me of “Halloween II” a lot, because the victim is brought to a hospital and the crazy psychopath goes to the hospital after her.

I thought that the actors did a great job in the movie and the mountain man looked pretty creepy and scary. I also thought that there was a lot of pretty scary and intense moments, because you never knew where the mountain man was going to come out of.

The special features were pretty good. There is the original theatrical trailer which has English Subtitles and there are a bunch of delete scenes that were fun to watch.

I really enjoyed Shout Factory’s “Cold Prey II” a lot and I thought it was an excellent horror film. I had never seen it before and this is the first time that people will get to see this movie in the United States. I know that horror fans and people who are looking for something different that will scare the heck out of them will really enjoy “Cold Prey II.”
