A Hispanic minister speaking at the Wisconsin Republican Party convention says the GOP is a good fit and has the right message for Hispanics.

The Rev. Joe Medina is leading the effort to attract Hispanics to the party. He spoke Saturday at the annual party convention near Wausau.

He says the party is reaching out through new regional offices to spread the party's message which he says is a "common sense agenda" that includes support for school choice and family values.

Medina says while Republicans have a lot to offer Hispanics, more has to be done to reach out to that community.

Doing more to connect with Hispanics and other groups that traditionally vote Democratic is part of an effort being pushed by the national Republican Party.
