The FDA has approved two new cardiac devices created right here in Minnesota.
Minneapolis-based Medtronic says the new implantable defibrillators respond to problems with heart rhythms faster than other pacemakers. They also have a longer battery life – up to 11 years, meaning fewer surgeries to replace them.
Medtronic says the new devices will reduce heart failure hospitalizations by more than 20 percent.
