Northwestern College in St. Paul is undergoing a name change.
The school will soon be called the University of Northwestern at St. Paul.
Administrators hope the name will achieve more recognition and bring in more funding.
"When you go around the world, the word college means kind of a post-high school situation. So as we have more students study internationally, as we recruit more students to come to Northwestern, the word University resonates better and connects better worldwide," said Dr. Alan Cureton, President of University of Northwestern St. Paul.
The name will officially change on July 1, so any 2013 graduates will still see Northwestern College on their diploma.
