Law enforcement will be stepping up patrols in the Twin Cities Friday night.

The Department of Public Safety will conduct its largest-ever one night DWI enforcement effort.

"Our message is quite simple to people who are impaired. If you're impaired and on our roadways, we're looking for you and we hope to arrest you before something bad occurs," said Lt. Matt Langer with the State Patrol.

One-hundred-fifty squad cars will be out patrolling the major freeways, looking for not just drunken drivers but speeders and those who are texting.

Something different with this enforcement is DPS that will post any DWI arrests made that night on Twitter. Information about the arrests will include the person's age, gender, location, and alcohol content. The person's name will not be included.
