The Minnesota National Guard unveiled a new facility to better train troops to use drones.

The Camp Ripley Unmanned Aircraft Systems Operation Facility grand opening took place Friday May 17.

The $3,900,000 operation houses nearly 50 unmanned aircraft systems.  Three of those are the sophisticated Shadow Systems, used during operations in Afghanistan.

The facility features a simulation training room, a mission planning and coordination room, a hanger, a library and much more.

The restricted airspace over Camp Ripley's 53,000 acre site will be used to train troops from around the region.
