A 17-year-old woman told police she was assaulted and robbed at Bunker Hills Park in Andover Tuesday night.

The woman said she had been with friends at the park and left around 5:12 p.m. She was on a walking path in the north end of the park and was checking her text messages when she said someone ran up behind her and dragged her into the nearby woods.

The suspect told her not to scream or he would kill her. She said he assaulted and robbed her, then ran off.

Police say there was no evidence of a sexual assault. Her injuries were treated at the hospital.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 30s with a slender build, dark hair, and an unshaven look. He is about 6-feet-tall and was wearing light-colored cargo pants and a T-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at (763) 427-1212.
