A 26-year-old man is accused of taking naked pictures of a 12-year-old girl.
Daniel Lawrence Kennedy, of Coon Rapids, reportedly paid the girl $100 to pose nude for him while he was taking care of her in November 2012, according to an Anoka County criminal complaint against Kennedy. He reportedly paid the girl in $5 bills so it didn't look suspicious.
Last May while at a Goodwill Store in Coon Rapids, Kennedy asked the girl to take more nude photos of herself while in a dressing room, the complaint said. She took several partially-nude photos of herself. Kennedy said he would pay the girl for the photos, but he never did.
The girl's mother told police that Kennedy usually has his camera with him, and had contact with the girl several times alone since fall 2012, the complaint said. She also confirmed that the girl went with Kennedy to the Goodwill in May.
Anoka County deputies searched Kennedy's home, where they found several thumb drives and computers, the complaint said. One of the drives had pictures of the girl on it.
Kennedy admitted paying the girl for nude pictures in November 2012, the charges said. He also said he took video of her dancing in her underwear and showing him her breasts. He told authorities he never paid the girl for the pictures taken at the Goodwill.
Kennedy also said he took pictures of the girl when she didn't know, the complaint said. Kennedy told authorities that he shared the photos with other people over email.
Kennedy estimated that he had 3,000 images of child pornography and 250 videos of child pornography, the charges said. He told police he's most sexually attracted to children between the ages of 10 and 13.
Kennedy has been charged in Anoka County District Court with 11 criminal charges, including use of minors in pornographic work, disseminating pornographic work and possession of pornographic work involving minors.
