The Twins have recalled right-handed pitcher Kyle Gibson, who is expected to make his Major League debut on Saturday at Target Field against the Kansas City Royals.

Gibson was the Twins 1st round draft pick in 2009 and has been dominating at Triple-A Rochester this season.  Gibson is 7-5 with 3.01 ERA and has 79 strikeouts in 92.2 innings pitched.

He'll take Mike Pelfrey's spot in the Twins starting rotation.   Pelfrey was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained back.

Gibson appears to be fully recovered after having Tommy John surgery in November of 2011.  He will officially be added to the roster after Tuesday's game in Miami.
