There are still tens of thousands of people across the metro without power from the weekend's storms. Some are being told it might be Wednesday before their power is restored.
In one South Minneapolis neighborhood, some residents were using generators, others were running extension cords to other houses to tap into electricity.
"Right when the power went out people were offering us everything from candles to power extension cords. Our neighbors have been so willing to help," said Nikki Nesheim, who has been without electricity since Friday night.
Xcel has 1,100 lineman out in the metro working to restore power. Hundreds of them have come from across the country to help, hailing from places like Nebraska and even Pennsylvania.
A spokesperson for Xcel says they can call for mutual assistance after extreme storms.
