Minneapolis police say a shooting that left two men and one child injured Tuesday night was not random and that there is no danger to the public.

One man was shot while standing on the sidewalk, and the other man and child were shot as they sat in a parked van in North Minneapolis, according to police.

Police and emergency crews responded to the scene of the shooting at 36th and Penn Avenue around 9:40 p.m.

Officers found the two men and 4-year-old boy with gunshot wounds to the leg area.

According to Minneapolis Police, the victims were sitting in a van outside an apartment building when there was a verbal argument and gun shots were fired.

All three victims were taken to North Memorial and are in stable condition.

The suspect left the scene. Officers are searching for a black man, 5-feet 8-inches, with a heavyset build. Anyone with information should call MPD at 612-692-TIPS(8477).

Meanwhile, it was one year ago today that 5-year-old Nizzel George was shot and killed in North Minneapolis.

There was a memorial for Nizzel set at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in North Mississippi Regional Park.
