Schaffhausen home goes up for auction in August.
The house where three River Falls girls were murdered by their father will be up for auction in August.
Aaron Schaffhausen was convicted of killing his three daughters – Amara, Sophie and Cecilia – last summer at 2790 Morningside Ave. in River Falls.
Schaffhausen’s family placed the home for sale after the murders, but Edina Realty pulled it off the market after his ex-wife, Jessica, sent a letter to the listing agent arguing that the sale would let her daughters’ murderer get “tens of thousands of dollars” and would disqualify him for the public defender he was using. The home had been listed at $229,000.
The house was listed as foreclosed on Jan. 31 of this year.
The auction will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the St. Croix County Government Center.
