No one was seriously injured after two boats collided at Wayzata Bay on Lake Minnetonka around 10 a.m. Sunday.
According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, two boats, about 22-feet long, collided about 200 yards from shore while traveling in the same direction. One boat was described as a runabout, and the other as a pontoon boat.
A two-year-old boy was thrown into the water in the crash. He was wearing a life jacket, and his father pulled him from the water.
A 7-year-old girl suffered a minor head injury, and a woman cut her foot in the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
Officials say the Fourth of July weekend is the busiest weekend of the summer for boating on Minnesota lakes.
