A Minneapolis woman has pleaded guilty to kidnapping her friend's baby boy.

Isabel Diaz-Castillo, 30, pleaded guilty Monday, July 15, to a kidnapping charge, according to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office. She will be sentenced 9 a.m. Aug. 19.

Diaz-Castillo is expected to receive three years in prison as part of the plea agreement. Diaz-Castillo, who is not a U.S. citizen, will likely be deported after serving her sentence, the attorney's office stated.

The kidnapping happened in February at a south Minneapolis home. Diaz-Castillo was arrested after a four-hour search for 8-month-old Carlos Orozco.

Police found her with the boy in the basement of a relative's home. The boy was reunited with his mother, who Diaz-Castillo had recently become friends with.

Diaz-Castillo was supposed to arrive at the baby's mother's home the morning of the kidnapping to lend the mother money. The child's mother placed the baby in a car seat that morning while she took a shower. When she got out of the shower, the baby was gone.

When police later found the child with Diaz-Castillo, the criminal complaint said she told police, "That's my baby."
