Friends and family are mourning the death of a 16-year-old girl who was killed after a three-vehicle crash in Wright County Tuesday.
According to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. at County Road 35 and Dempsey Avenue Northwest in Chatham Township.
The sheriff says 16-year-old Emma Rodelius of Maple Lake was driving northbound on Dempsey and pulled out in front of a dump truck driven by 56-year-old Scott Quady of Sandstone.
Emma's Taurus then collided with a 1992 Mazda driven by 49-year-old Kenneth Hartneck of Howard Lake.
Emma was pronounced dead at the scene. Hartnect was transported to Allina hospital in Buffalo and Quady didn't have any apparent injuries.
Officials don’t suspect that drugs or alcohol were involved.
Emma was a budding photographer in Minnesota and had her own business. She also volunteered with ASON International. The group assists national Christian leaders with starting projects that will provide ongoing spiritual training and humanitarian aid to communities that need it, according to its website.
"It'll take a long time," family friend, Heather Thornton, said of Emma. "We will heal, we'll never forget. And as my daughter said last night, she'll always live in my heart so that's what we have to continue to believe, that she'll always be here with us."
