The Minnesota Twins traded infielder Jamey Carroll to the Kansas City Royals for a player to be named later or cash.
The 39-year old Carroll hit .230 in 59 games this season. He's played 12 seasons in the majors and gives the Royals a versatile infielder as they fight for a playoffs spot.
The Twins will make a corresponding roster move prior to their game with the Cleveland Indians tomorrow.
