Three metro towns are some of the "Best Places to Live in the Country" according to a new list released by CNN/Money Magazine.

Chanhassen nearly topped the list of 50 towns at #4, while Apple Valley and Savage both made the list at 17 and 21, respectively. Among the many reasons Chanhassen scored so well was its location and amenities, including parks, trails and festivals.

Realtor Sharla Stafford of Coldwell Banker Burnet says, that the national attention could boost home values. "It's simple supply and demand... if there is more of a demand for homes in that area because of the article, then prices could go up."

She says when other areas in the metro topped national lists in the past, buyers would search for properties in that particular area.

The list looked at towns with populations ranging from 10,000 to 50, 000.
