A Minneapolis mayoral candidate says the city overstepped its boundaries when agreeing to contribute millions of dollars to the new Vikings stadium.
Green Party Candidate Doug Mann says voters should have had a say. A court hearing on the issue was held on Tuesday morning.
Mann is suing to have residents vote on stadium funding in a referendum during the next general election in November.
Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Authority has now hired a law firm to look into Vikings owner Zygi Wilf. It comes after a New Jersey judge’s ruling that the Wilf family business violated fraud and racketeering laws in a case not connected to the Vikings stadium.
