Brooklyn Center police are looking for a suspect in a deadly shooting near a motel.

Police found a man bleeding from a gunshot wound around 3 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22. He was lying in the back parking lot of the Super 8 Motel on the 6400 block of James Circle, just north of Interstate 694.

Police say the man died at the scene. At this point it’s unclear if the man was staying at the motel, but police say the man initially tried to get into the motel through a back door and a clerk at the front desk noticed him and called police.

There are no suspects. The Hennepin County Crime Lab and Brooklyn Center Police are investigating the incident.
