Mounds View senior pitcher/first baseman Sam Hentges currently has scholarship offers from the Gophers, Creighton, and Arkansas. That should change in the near future after his scoreless inning of work Saturday in the Under Armour All-American game at Wrigley Field.
In the game televised by MLB Network, Hentges had two strikeouts. In addition to impressing other universities, every major league team had at least one scout at the game. Hentges is positioning himself to be a high pick in next June's draft.
KSTP Sports has learned that the Twins, Mets, and Reds are currently showing the most interest.
