The Dean of the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS President Obama must take strong action against Syria.

Eric Schwartz, who also is a former Assistant Secretary of State under Hillary Clinton, tells us the use of chemical weapons by Syria on thousands of its citizens is the last straw for President Obama. Schwartz says if the United States of America doesn't do anything the "rest of the world will not do anything."

Schwartz says it is likely, in coming days, that President Obama will order cruise missile strikes against Syria. Schwartz says not acting on the situation would send a bad message to the rest of the world. Schwartz says other nations will view the inaction of the U.S. and its allies as a signal to use more chemical weapons against their own people, or others who are considered their enemies.
