An Anoka man was arrested after police say they seized more than 18 ½ pounds of meth from his home.
On Thursday, Aug. 22, members of the Anoka Hennepin Drug Task Force and the Anoka SWAT team executed a search warrant on the 4000 block of Seventh Avenue in Anoka, which is the home of 21-year-old Cesar Ruben Fletes-Ortiz.
Once inside, the officers identified and detained Fletes-Ortiz while they searched the home. According to the criminal complaint, they found a gun safe with containers of a white substance that tested positive for meth. The total amount of meth seized from the safe was 18.54 pounds, which has a street value of $500,000 to $1 million, according to the complaint.
The officers also said they found a scale, monetary drug notes, $10,000 in cash and three firearms.
Fletes-Ortiz has been charged with two first-degree controlled substance crimes. If convicted, he faces up to 30 years in prison and $1 million in fines on each charge.
