Royals Take Series Opener From Twins

The Twins are now 4-13 vs. Kansas City this season after Tuesday night's 6-1 loss at Target Field.

The Royals had 13 hits, with Alex Gordon's three-run double in the eighth inning vs. reliever Caleb Thielbar the big blow. Reliever Jared Burton also played a hand in the Royals' five run inning.

The Twins were 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

Pitcher Kevin Correia went seven shutout innings for the Twins, tallying a career-high 118 pitches. He had seven strikeouts.
