Two men involved in a shooting Monday morning in Brooklyn Center were father and son, police say.
Witnesses told investigators that the son shot and killed his father and then took his own life, according to Brooklyn Center police. A woman, the son's mother, was shot in the arm. She was previously married to the father.
The mother was not the intended target, police said.
Police are investigating the shooting as a murder-suicide. Officers were called to the 7200 block of Fremont Avenue around 1 a.m. Monday on reports of shots fired. When they arrived, they found two men dead and a woman injured.
There were a number of other people in the home at the time of the shooting. They were not injured.
The Hennepin County Crime Lab is on the scene. Police say the neighborhood is not at risk and that it appears to be a domestic dispute.
