Portion of Document: Terrance Franklin Death Investigation

The Minneapolis Police Department released a 228 page investigative report Thursday that reveals more details in the shooting death of Terrance Franklin.

Franklin was shot by two police officers in May. One week ago, a grand jury cleared the officers of any wrongdoing.

The investigative report details the chaotic confrontation between the officers and Franklin. According to statements in the report, officers found Franklin hiding in the dark, cluttered basement of an Uptown home.

On page 85 an officer said a female passenger yelled out there were kids in the car.

On page 102 an officer describes an interview with Franklin's girlfriend.

On page 110 an officer describes responding to the scene of the home where the shooting later occurred. 

On page 139 an officer describes the moment one of the K9s found Franklin hiding, and the struggle that followed.

On page 140 an officer describes why he shot Franklin.

On page 184 an officer describes his injuries from the shooting.
