Another search began Monday in the southern Twin Cities suburbs, where volunteers are looking for the body of a missing University of Minnesota student.

According to a Facebook page, the family of Anarae Schunk planned to team up with the family of another missing woman, Mandy Matula, to search for Schunk. Matula, 24, of Eden Prairie, was last seen with her boyfriend David Roe on May 1. Roe killed himself in the police station parking lot when he was asked to come in for questioning in Matula’s disappearance. She's yet to be found.

On Sunday, volunteers searched Lilydale Park in St. Paul for missing 20-year-old Schunk. Meanwhile, police reported finding additional evidence, which has led officers to believe that Schunk may have been the victim of a homicide.

Schunk disappeared following the shooting death of 23-year-old Palagor Obang Jobi on Sept. 22 at Nina's Grill in Burnsville, according to police. Schunk was with her ex-boyfriend 31-year-old Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, who has been charged in connection with the shooting. Chavez-Nelson's current girlfriend, 24-year-old Ashley Conrade, also has been charged in the incident.

Chavez-Nelson and Jobi reportedly got into a fight before the shooting. Conrade told police that Schunk returned to Conrade's townhouse in Rosemount with her and Chavez-Nelson following the shooting. That's where the trail ends for Schunk.

Schunk reconnected with Chavez-Nelson in hopes of recovering a $5,000 loan he never repaid. Her brother says police told their family they found his sister's white jacket with a U of M logo, covered with blood and 18 to 20 holes that may indicate she was stabbed.

Investigators didn't elaborate on what evidence they found, or where they found it.

Tyson Schunk told the Star Tribune that investigators found the jacket in the apartment of the ex-wife of Chavez-Nelson. He said police told Schunk's family that a knife connected to the case was found on the roof of the apartment building in St. Paul.

Burnsville police are continuing to search for Schunk's body. Chavez-Nelson, Conrade and multiple other people have been questioned by police about Schunk's whereabouts, but have not provided police with any information, according to police.

Recovering her body could mean additional charges in the case.

Schunk was a junior at the University of Minnesota, studying sociology. Chavez-Nelson and Schunk dated for a couple of months last year, Schunk's brother told KSTP.

Chavez-Nelson has a long history of crime. Conrade was charged with aiding an offender for the shooting death at the bar.

If you have information about the location of Schunk, call the Burnsville police tip line at 952-895-4636.
