Grand Rapids Man Pleads Guilty to Stabbing Assault

A 28-year-old man from Grand Rapids is charged with attempted second-degree murder among other charges for the stabbing of another man, according to the Itasca County Attorney.

Joshua Julien appeared in Itasca County District Court on Monday on the charges that stem from a stabbing at a home in Grand Rapids. Julien allegedly stabbed a 23-year-old man in the abdomen, chest, and hands with a large chrome knife. The victim is recovering from his wounds.

At a hearing, Julien pleaded guilty to first degree assault. Under a plea deal, Julien could be sentenced to more than eight years in prison.

He is expected to be sentenced Nov. 12 at 4 p.m.
