I am a big fan of animation, and I will watch just about anything once, no matter what it is.
This past week, I got the opportunity to watch a collection of DVDs from Mill Creek Entertainment called “The Adventures of Madeline,” that I think are very entertaining and fun to watch.
I have heard of “Madeline” before, but never got the chance to watch it, that is until now.
“Madeline” is based off of a series of books that were written by Ludwig Bemelmans in the 1930s to 1960s.
“Madeline” is set in a Catholic boarding school in Paris, and the main character is a little girl named Madeline.
In each episode, you follow Madeline through many exciting adventures and watch her experience all of the things that children encounter in everyday life
The unique thing about “Madeline” is that every episode is written in a rhyme, and each show starts out with the same little rhyme. “In an old house in Paris that was covered in vines, lived twelve little girls in two straight lines." I really thought that was clever and fun.
Another thing that makes “Madeline” very entertaining and appealing is that there are a lot of catchy songs in each episode. I watched these DVDs with my two daughters, and it didn’t take long for them to start dancing and trying to sing along with the songs.
Mill Creek Entertainment did an excellent job with these three “Madeline” DVDs, and I know that people are really going to enjoy them.
The quality of the cartoons is fabulous and looks great. The colors are sharp and crystal clear, and the animation is very unique.
The three, recently released “Madeline” DVDs are:
Madeline’s Merry Musical Melodies: Sing Along Around The World & Sing Along with Madeline and Her Friends
The Adventures of Madeline (Adventures In Paris): Madeline and the Marionettes, Madeline and the Ice Skates, Madeline and the Can Can Cliques, Madeline and the Fashion Show, Madeline at the Eiffel Tower, Madeline and the Perfume Factory
Madeline (The Original Specials): Madeline (Pilot), Madeline’s Christmas, Madeline’s Rescue, Madeline and the Bad Hat, Madeline and the Gypsies, and Madeline in London
Of all the DVDs my favorite one was “Madeline: The Original Specials” because it had the first episodes of Madeline on there. I especially enjoyed watching the pilot episode and thought that was pretty special to see on the DVD.
Overall, I really enjoyed Mill Creek Entertainment’s “Madeline” DVD collections a lot. I really thought the animation was unique and the quality of the video was excellent. I also thought the way each episode was written was very clever, and I also enjoyed all of the songs. I would highly recommend “Madeline” to everyone. It is such a great show for kids and families.
