The Minnesota Timberwolves have two weeks to extend a $6.3 million option to Derrick Williams for next season.

Even if they do that, he could be dealt during the season.

Williams was the second overall pick in the 2011 draft but has struggled a bit in Rick Adelman's system.

During the preseason, he's getting about equal playing time at both small forward and power forward.

Williams averaged 12 points per game last year.
