Somerset Football Coach Helps Out Player In Big Way

Gophers football commitment Gaelin Elmore was in and out of foster care seven times, but his high school football coach stepped up when Elmore needed him most.

Somerset head coach Bruce Larson brought Elmore into his home when Elmore's father was in jail a year-and-a-half ago.

"It was the right thing to do." Larson told 5 Eyewitness News.  "At that time, a 16-year-old kid, alone, scared, unsure. How do you leave someone like that"

Elmore is a senior at Somerset and the team's star tight-end.

"I haven't had the easiest upbringing or easiest life so far," Elmore says "but I know everything I've went through has gotten me to this point today and it has made me the person I am today."
