Would you believe that there is a real live mermaid who spends her summers cruising the frigid waters of Lake Superior? What does she do in the winter? Would you believe she lives in a hotel swimming pool?

It's just one of the stories we found in Minnesota that are "Strange but True.”

In Park Rapids, Minn. there is a young man who claims to have such strong psychic powers that he can track down and evict any nasty spirits that may inhabit you home. We met up with him as he helped a woman with an unwelcome presence in her home.

An elderly man in northern Minnesota has an amazing group who visits for breakfast every morning: scores of wild turkeys. One morning after an ice storm, he got a visit from four turkeys. Today, Myron Rassmussen throws out several coffee cans of corn to every increasing number of birds that gather outside his home every morning.

A group of enthusiasts in Becker, Minn. get together now and again to race powers tools down a homemade track and a couple of guys in Clearwater, Minn. have invented a weird-looking vehicle that is equally at home on the ice or on the road.

And when it comes to odd vehicles there's nothing more eye catching than cars built from all kinds of bits and pieces that their creators call "Rat Rods.”

It's all "Strange but True,”
