An Anoka County man has been charged after police say he fired a gun inside a house when he was “extremely intoxicated.”

Ramsey officers were called to the 7800 block of 151st Lane on Thursday, Oct. 24, after the caller said she heard a gunshot in her home.

The woman told police she was in her bedroom when she heard the shot from the living room, where 44-year-old Jason Gene Glidden of Ramsey was sleeping on a couch. Police say there was a bullet hole in the padding of the couch and they found a loaded Ruger LCR 38 Special in the cushions under where Glidden was sleeping.

The woman told police that Glidden was a heavy drinker and that she had allowed him inside to sleep on the couch until he sobered up.

Police say Glidden gave a preliminary breath test and blew a .238.

Glidden has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm within a municipality. If convicted, he faces up to two years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.
