A driver was killed in a rollover crash in Chisago County Wednesday morning.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened around 5:22 a.m. on Interstate 35 northbound in North Branch.
According to the State Patrol, a Ford Ranger swerved to miss a deer in the middle of the road and slid sideways into the median, rolling several times and ejecting the driver into the northbound left lane.
The driver was then hit by a Chevrolet Impala driven by 48-year-old Richard Giese of Pine City, Minn., authorities say.
Northbound I-35 north of Highway 95 was closed during the investigation. The Chisago County Sheriff's Office, North Branch Police Department, and Pine County Sheriff's Office all responded.
The victim has not yet been identified.
