A "Village Holiday" in Afton, Minn., will transform the St. Croix River town Dec. 6 and 7 for two days of old-fashioned holiday fun.

The Afton Area Business Association will sponsor events that start Friday at 5:30 p.m. when the town will "light up" with holiday lights and torches.

Visitors can enjoy free horse and carriage rides, shopping with special discounts and free treats and beverages.

At the Afton Museum, those who bring an ornament can help decorate the holiday tree and catch some live music at Sail Away Café or a performance by the strolling carolers.

Participating businesses will have special offers and treats for visitors to enjoy throughout the weekend.
