The Minnesota Department of Transportation is planning a $61.5 million project involving seven miles of I-494 between I-394 and I-694.

The project includes reconstructing the roadway pavement and several bridges, building noise barriers and incorporating a dynamic shoulder between Highway 55 and East Fish Lake Road. Construction is scheduled to take place from June 2014 through November 2016.

The project is expected to increase traffic in the area.

An open house will take place from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, 4-7 p.m. There will be a project presentation from 6-6:30 p.m. followed by a discussion of the noise wall voting process.

It will be held at the Medicine Lake Room, Plymouth City Hall, 3400 Plymouth Road.
